Not to come across as a music snob, but have you ever considered electroconvulsive therapy for your rather, uhm, pedestrian taste in music? Just think, after about 4 or 5 treatments you'll be singing the praises of such hyped acts as the Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem and TV on the Radio! (LOL-I'm only kidding!)
 
I have some friends who listen to Linkin Park. I can tolerate them. I would never spend money on their music.

But I do agree rock lately is too much like whiny crap. Don't get me wrong I like the whiny crap but I'd like to see more heavier rock bands coming in. And I'm absolutely sick of all this English/Europe Invasion IE: The Fratellis, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand,etc.
