Carl T. Jones Consultants and the proofing of three radio stations won't be cheap.
If there is progress in returning to the air, an STA con be extended, right? They got less than 2 months to get something back on the air even with an STA
Compared to the total billion dollar and more bankruptcy, this is pocket change to protect an asset.Carl T. Jones Consultants and the proofing of three radio stations won't be cheap.
Wrong. Moving is always an option. This is a new development! I really thought Audacy was willing to let the two AM stations die. Moving to another site, even at reduced power, was not really reported as an option.
Wrong. K268CS was never associated with KDWN. When Beasley had it, it was associated with KKLZ.KDWN's FM translator, now fed by KMXB-HD3, continues to run the conservative talk shows and brokered shows on 101.5 MHz. KXST didn't have an FM translator, so its Sports Betting (BetQL) and CBS Sports Radio programming simply disappeared from Las Vegas airwaves.
Damn it's so easy! Just hook it up no problem!Since KDWN and KXST are just going to piggyback on the tower currently used by co-owned 840 KXST, I wonder why this is taking so long?
Nick, you would think, but you don't. Just stop thinking, because every thought you post on this site is wrong. You can change your username, but it doesn't make your takes any less trash. The translator that KDWN is on is K268CS 101.5. KXST is on KLUC-HD3. I would think Las Vegas could use a sports betting station.
Oh how very true....😪But the ROI!
Could they just put them on air with a longwire for a day, then go silent again? The clock has stopped. I guess they aren't coming back....
Which expired yesterday. The was an STA extension granted on 9/11/23.

Why do you think that?I think they have a few days to file a license to cover.
FCC is going after those "one day" operators and either giving them a short term renewal with the condition they operate continuously, or they hold a hearing to determine if the licensee has served the public, if not pull the license. It’s been silent for a year. Many station resume operations for one day, then go silent again.
But if they show construction on their new site, they can get multiple extensions. There was a station in CA that had been in a flood plain, and had the site destroyed. The government-owned proprietors would not let them back, and zoning in Coastal CA kept them from getting permits for a variety of proposed sites. The FCC saw the documents and continued to grant extensions.FCC is going after those "one day" operators and either giving them a short term renewal with the condition they operate continuously, or they pull the license.
Are you referring to the station on 630 in Monterey? Your description sounds very familiar. But if they show construction on their new site, they can get multiple extensions.
