While this thread has strayed from the original topic, you gentlemen are making some very astute observations. I thought I'd add my two cents worth. And for sake of clarity, for those of you on this board who may not be aware of an earlier posts, I'm the elder Joe. Both my son and I use the same account when navigating this forum.
A question has been raised that implicitly asks why our ministry would want to add another religious station to the already saturated Houston market. Actually, what I eventually plan to do is tweak the JoeFM format (www.JoeFM.net) that my son established online to more closely follow what the good folks in Dallas have on 88.5 KEOM. A mixture of secular music with words of encouragement. If you recall Jon Rivers' PowerLine, then you know what I am getting at here. God recently gave this ministry an abandoned radio tower. He will provide a license to go with it when HE is ready.
As for Osteen: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!" Mark 7: 6-9
KEOM is an excellent station. I really miss it. 106.1 pales in comparison - they are all over the place musically and have no consistent format.
