Mission ordered by FCC to sell WPIX after fining Nexstar $1.2M for violation of ownership rules

Nexstar is Selling WJMN to Morgan Murphy, So maybe that could Brighten up the Chances of WPIX not begin split from WGN
I don’t think they will split Pix 11 & WGN Because of News Nation. I’m not sure 🤔 what kind of ratings their News Shows bring in. Compared To Fox 5 NY. For years there have been rumors Fox would buy Pix 11.

Nexstar needs to sell some more to give way for WPIX because of the 39 percent FCC cap in housholds, so far need more than 7 percent to sell them to it's rivals so they can legally buy the WPIX licence from Mission.

One doesn't need to read the entire decision to see what happened here: Nextar was using Mission as a 'strawman' to avoid the ownership caps. I'm just surprised it took the government that long to realize that Nextar had a sizable financial stake in Mission that would have prohibited Mission to own/operate WPIX.
Honestly, if Nextar had just played it above board and gone through the process of LMAing WPIX with the Commission's blessing, they could have avoided all this.

I think it nearly played the same playbook as Sinclair with Cunningham, Deerfield, Howard Stirk, New Age Media and MPS Media.

Nexstar also has White Knight and Vaughan Media while Gray has American Spirit Media (all but one operated by Gray).
