Just a little heads up folks....

We will be taking the following stations down for maintenance next week:

1130 WISN
920 WOKY
100.7 WKKV

These will more than likely be after midnight, on a day yet to be determined. I will keep you posted, but it may be short notice.

Awesome thanks for letting us know. Hope there's a tropo during WKKV's outage because I barely ever get to DX that frequency. I usually can get WBYT Elkart, IN whem I move my antenna to a WKKV weak spot but thats about it.

Jeremy,

Have you ever tried getting 100.7 WITL from Lansing? There's another 100.7 in Honor, MI that you might try, but it's a Class A.

It's pretty cool that CC Milwaukee lets you know when they're taking their stations down for maintenance. Do a lot of radio station owners do that?<P ID="signature">______________

I dont know about others, but being a DXer myself I like to give people the best opportunities to DX frequencies they normally cant. I am trying to work with other CC engineers to do the same. Many are quite accepting.

BTW, when we bring down 1130 WISN, try the frequency about 4AM or so. Last time we did that, I picked up a new one, CKWX in Vancouver, BC which was on top....and this was on my factory Ford car radio right at the WISN transmitter.

My car's radio is a factory Ford and I'm usually up working until 5 so I'll check it out.

I received WITL in my Muskego home last night. I live 3 miles from the WKKV tower and I noticed them off the air at 11:20 pm. They returned to the air at 1:01 am on Wednesday, June 29th. Also heard Elkhart in there as well as "Cool 101" on 100.9 WQXC I believe. Also heard the "The River 100.5" WTRV.

Kent,

I heard WKKV off on Tuesday night at 11:20 am and you guys came back the next day Wednesday morning at 1:01 am. Thank You for the DXing opportunity there.

BTW: The "FM Atlas" by Dr. Bruce Elving shows that WKKV has a translator in downtown Milwaukee on 101.3 mHz. I've checked while in Milwaukee and haven't found anything. Are their any plans to have a translator or use 101.3 of anything?
