What will you do over your Winter Break?

With quarter schools already out and semester schools getting out for Winter Break in the next few weeks, I was just wondering what everyone does for breaks.

We hit the automation and come back 3 weeks later and start a whole new schedule line-up for second semester in January. If anyone is remaining on campus or in the area, they are welcome to basically go and do shows at their leisure. We also have someone on campus to check the station daily to make sure we are on air.

Does anyone keep a mostly full staff on air over your Winter Break?

We always went RoboJock over winter break with anyone in the area filling in if they had time. Someone was generally there once a day to check on things except on days when all campus offices were closed. RoboJock went to all Christmas music for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and then back to regular rotation.

In Ithaca... WICB has break staff that keeps the station live almost 24/7. 106-VIC signs off and simulcasts sister WICB.

At Lyndon State College,
Our 3,000 watt radio station
we just put on automation. during exams week, we are allowed to do our shows but they are optional. Over break, the only ones allowed at the station are the directors of our station. I wish I was allowed to do a show over break brecause our automation "DJ Dell" is on a continual loop. Before automation though, Our station was left quiet and when automation goes down which happins daily, you get nothing but silence until someone can fix it.
