WFRD climbs in Hanover/Leb/WRJ 12+

New "beauty pageant" numbers are out for Market No. 221, and lame-duck rocker WFRD, which Dartmouth College is trying to sell, continues its climb. It's now in a four-way tie for third with classical WNCH and the two country stations, WXLF and WXXK. (I'm looking forward to six months of both Wolf and Kixx shouting that they're "No. 1 in the Valley for country!!!") Any word on a possible buyer for WFRD yet? Since it's a non-comm, I'm assuming it can't be taken commercial, which would leave, say, Binnie out. Could a community-based group emerge, or is it only a matter of time before a religious operator flashes the cash and turns 99.3 Christian?

Shows how much I listen to WFRD! Missed the news about Sugar River completely. Do they plan to keep 99.3 rock? I do enjoy WCNL's unique mix of classic and new country with pop oldies from CCR, The Band, etc. But I'd imagine they're happy keeping it on 1010/94.7 with its more rural coverage area.
