WDAZ Shutting Down News Operation

A sad day in Grand Forks. This is the station that EVERYONE watched for local news. Now they are forced to watch news from an hour or more away that has nothing to do with Grand Forks or southern Manitoba. To think they went from 24/7 nationally-renowned coverage of the 1997 Red River floods, to shutting down in 2018.
I would NOT be surprised if this happens here in Yakima in the next few years. Two of the three stations serving Yakima have news from Tri-Cities studios, and KIMA is down to 5 and 6pm news live from Yakima (rest from KEPR Pasco). If KIMA decides to shut down and send everything to KEPR in the near-future, I won't be surprised.
