WAKY-FM Louisville now streaming..

Just started listening to WAKY-FM out of Louisville. Great sounding station, and unlike some reborn quasi-heritage FM oldies stations (WLS-FM, KOMA, WTIX) does a better job of sounding closer to their 60's/70's AM ancestor.

A WIDE oldies playlist from the 1950's to the mid-80's, personality DJ's (cant tell if they're all "live" or VT) and plenty of resung or original WAKY jingles from the old AM 79 era. Locally owned and operated too.

About the only caveat is sometimes their stream is down at nights or weekends due to them broadcasting Kentucky Wildcats sports.

If you like the sound of WAKY, check out the original. Incredibly awesome! John Quincy--the webmaster-- should win an award for this site. Actually the website brought enough attention to the heritage station that the owner of WSAE rebranded his station as WAKY, complete with some of the original DJs like the award-winning Johnny Randolph. All of the DJs are pros with a love and respect for this music.
