Three Fort Myers Area AMs Turn In Their Licenses

Three Fort Myers Area AMs Turn In Their Licenses

"Fort Myers Broadcasting Company has turned in the licenses of 1200 WAXA Pine Island Center/Fort Myers and 1460 WNPL Golden Gate/Naples.
...
Sun Broadcasting Inc. surrendered 1270 WNOG Naples."

I'm not surprised by the first two; however, the third one is a big surprise. WNOG has served the Naples area since 1954.

Did they have fm translators attached to those licenses? If so did they lose them too?
Yes, they had translators, and, no, they did not lose them. Those translators were moved in as part of the AM revitalization and had a four year AM simulcast requirement. The AM's were shut down almost immediately after the four year window, and the translators now simulcast HD sub channels, which now carry the same programming the AM's did.
