The Spot

All the Audacy stations had audio loss earlier today - the carrier signals were all there, as were the other Senior Road signals, so it may have been a loss in the STL link.

KKHH may be (or was) on its backup transmitter, as I noticed some differences in reception here in NW Harris County. This is the time of year annual maintenance is done on the Senior Road tower, so all nine stations are, or might have been, on their aux facilities.

I know this morning KBXX RDS said KBXX-AUX and was without HD. 4 other stations were without HD too so I believe they were all on AUX too

Probably maintenance at Senior Road.

KRBE had no HD either, and KBXX’s RDS was kinda funky, said “Now Playing The Real Sound Of H-Town by 97.9 The Box on KBXX-FM AUX”, or something to that extent.

It does show song info though.

If anyone is interested since this morning, 92.9 no HD or RDS, 94.5 no HD, 97.9 no HD, 99.1 no HD, and obviously 104.1 no HD.

Noticed about half of the stations from the Missouri city stick was very weak out in Lavaca county, and also saw the box have KBXX Aux on RDS.

must be boring in Vegas.. cause you sure do love the Houston Translators
I fly to Houston and drive to Louisiana every other week or so. Of course I pay attention to the radio

I used to like listening to KXXF 105.3 before it was sold. I was enraged that K287BQ was wiping it out 40 miles away from Houston because it’s overpowered. On top of that it’s originating programming. I also like Cool 92.5 and K223CW blasts it away past Baytown. Those translators should not be running so much power

Now that EMF owns KXXF they might bring the hammer down on the K287BQ operation. EMF was able to get a previous translator on 103.5 shut down as its horribly overmodulated and unintelligible signal was slopping over to Air1 on 103.7 KHJK.

And the 92.5 translator is supposed to be directional to the SW running 30 watts. Yet it booms into Montgomery County as well as the Clear Lake area.

Welcome to Houston, where the rules don’t apply and the FCC simply doesn’t care.
