they stay up for close football games, and they ended long before Midnight EST, maybe they should start delaying on the West Coast again since many won't watch live or delayed since there's now social media

No one is going to delay the Oscars. That’s absurd. If you didn’t notice, it’s a highly viewed event. And yes, they made some adjustments so it didn’t end as late in the east. Football is irrelevant in that discussion.

I actually enjoyed the telecast. Good thing KITV Honolulu carried the entire Oscar broadcast live, red carpet and all.

US Holocaust survivorsâ foundation calls Jonathan Glazerâs Oscars speech âmorally indefensibleâ

Now we have one of the movie directors that won an Oscar face a backlash by a civil rights group that represent Holocaust Survivors.

The Holocaust Survivors’ Foundation USA has attacked The Zone of Interest director Jonathan Glazer for what it describes as his “morally indefensible” Oscar acceptance speech on Sunday.

In an open letter published on the organisation’s website, the foundation’s chairman David Schaecter, wrote: “You made a Holocaust movie and won an Oscar. And you are Jewish. Good for you. But it is disgraceful for you to presume to speak for the six million Jews, including one and a half million children, who were murdered solely because of their Jewish identity.”


Schaecter added: “You should be ashamed of yourself for using Auschwitz to criticise Israel. If the creation, existence, and survival of the State of Israel as a Jewish state equates to ‘occupation’ in your mind, then you obviously learned nothing from your movie.”

Glazer, along with film producer James Wilson, won the best international film Academy Award for The Zone of Interest, about the daily life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his wife Hedwig. In his speech, Glazer said that he and Wilson “stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people, whether the victims of October 7 in Israel or the ongoing attack in Gaza.”

Politics aside, evidently the story (as explained by Jimmy himself) goes that he was told by producers that he (as host and the guy who's more or less charged with keeping the pace and flow of the program) had some time to kill. He told them he was going to read the Trump post and use it as a "bit" as filler for those few minutes.

I'm amazed this happens. The show has always run over.

He says he was specifically asked not to do so, but he chose to anyway. That in mind, for better or worse, it was more or less Jimmy's idea, rather than something that was though of or endorsed by the show producers or the network.

Sort of like what I was hoping we'd find out about Will Smith and Chris Rock.
