Just wonderin' as I watch the naked women on Stern's E show, what kind of mic does he use...Looks like it's a Neumann M149...???

Or at least it did when I last listened to him about a month ago. It's compressed, distorted, clipped, with a lot of muddy sounding low-end boost. JMO.

I almost cried when I saw that U87 being wasted in that manner. With all that processing crap after the U87, a Shure SM-58 would probably sound just as good, and stand up to Stern's fondling alot better. He could beat the '58 on the desk and it wouldn't care...
But then again, I guess an SM58 just wouldn't *LOOK* as cool on TV... Bleh. What a waste.

How about a muzzle? Yeah, they could modify a muzzle with one of those $1.99 electret elements from shadio rack. It would probably sound about the same, and, talk about "Shock Value"!!!
