Hi Christian,

You were definitely experiencing a phenomenon known as "Sporadic-E skip", where VHF radio signals are reflected off a thick patch of the ionosphere.

I do not remember there being E-skip into FM a month or so ago - do you know the exact date these were recorded?

Audio #1: "K-Hits 106.9" is KHTT Muskogee, Oklahoma
Audio #3: KBCN Marshall, Arkansas
Audio #4: Off-frequency splatter from "Big Country 99.5" which is KXBL Tulsa, Oklahoma
Audio #5: Phone number matches KOLL Lonoke (Little Rock), Arkansas
Audio #7: "Texarkana Public Radio" is KTXK Texarkana, Arkansas
Audio #9 and #11: KOLL Lonoke, Arkansas
Audio #12: "Cool 106.1" is KQLL Owasso (Tulsa), Oklahoma
Audio #13: KDKS Blanchard (Shreveport), Louisiana
Audio #17 (and #21): "Jose" - not sure what station unless you know what frequency these were on?
Audio #18: "Digital 101.5" XHAVO Reynosa, TAM
Audio #19: "Wild" - not sure what station unless you know what frequency this was on?
Audio #22: "El Sol 98.9 & 99.1" - Either 98.9 KSOL San Franscisco, California or 99.1 KSQL Santa Cruz, California
Audio #24: "Radio Lobo (?)" - not sure what station unless you know what frequency this was on?
Audio #25: Website mentioned www.tricolor995.com - matches KLOK Greenfield, California
Audio #26: "100.7 & 105.7 La Calle" - Either 100.7 KVVZ San Rafael, California or 105.7 KVVF Santa Clara, Calfornia
Audio #27: A handful of stations are possible with the "El Piolin" show. I hear a mailing address to Glendale, CA and a mention of Pico Rivera (?), if so, this is probably one of my local stations - 101.9 KSCA Glendale, California

I enjoyed hearing these, myself and many DX'ers in the U.S. hear Mexican stations quite often, it's interesting to hear the skip from the other end. The season for E-Skip is beginning soon, and will get better through the summer, hopefully you are able to hear more!
