SF HD-2 signals

SF HD-2 signals were getting out rather well last night! Got to listen to the oldies on KOIT HD-2 and the dance format on 99.7 HD-2 while programming my car radio after some car maintanence. I'm just west of the city of Folsom. Who say's these HD signals don't get out there?

Since the HD-2 signals occupy adjacent channels, the high-power stations manage to get out pretty good if there's no interference. In your case, 96.5 is protected because there are strong Sacramento stations at 96.1 and 96.9, leaving 96.3 and 96.7 free. 99.7 is subject to interference from the 99.9 in Marysville, but the 99.5 allocation in Citrus Heights is off the air indefinitely due to interference issues. You probably can decode the HD's from KMEL and KQED for the same reason.
