Firstly, I wanted to say how great it was this week to have Tony Bruno back on the air doing a national radio show. There were many times where it seemed like he hadn't missed a beat being out of the national scene. I think his new co-host Mark Willard will take me some getting used to, he is very different than Andrew Siciliano but I think he and Tony have good chemistry. Tony had some great interviews this week including Randy Moss's agent and lucked out on Monday with PGA Golf to talk about. Famous segments such as "Mr. Monday Night" and "Trash Tony Tuesday" also made it seem like the show never left the air. Some things I was disappointed with were that alot of his famous sound bites were not used on the show, I hope they are in the near future. I'm looking forward to him taking callers who arent just calling in to praise him/welcome him back. And alot of his "Im here to save radio from itself" speeches are a bit unneccesary but otherwise his show sounded great and is a marked improvement for the network.
In other news, I really don't like the sound of the Jeff Rickard Morning Show. Yes, he talks more sports than Murray in the Morning but I find that he spends much more time on other topics/his personal life than he should be. Like them or not, Murray in the AM were midly entertaining when they did not talk sports but Rickard misses the mark on many of his statements Also, I do not like the interaction between him and Bill Lekas, it may just be that they need adjustment time to get along but they do not seem to jive all the time. I liked Jeff better talking exclusively sports/taking calls in the afternoon and I think his morning show needs alot of improvement. If the show stays like this in the next few weeks I see a change being made because it is a bad lead in to Bruno and is, honestly, worse than the show it replaced.
