2 Suddenly an Eagle
Special: Retracing the events that led to 'the shot heard round the world.' Lee J. Cobb and British actor Kenneth Griffith alternate as on-screen narrators in this documentary, which places them in historical settings and occasionally on opposite sides of the Atlantic to tell how and why the American colonies rebelled against England. It's a familiar story made vivid, in part, by the locales themselves: Windsor Castle colonial Williamsburg, Va.; Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia (site of the First Continental Congress), and Lexington and Concord, Mass., where the War of Independence began. But it's the lesser-known details in the story that set this hour apart. For example...George Washington's cautious advice that a call to arms 'should be the last resort'; William Pitt's sympathy for the colonists' cause; and John Adams' defense of British troops on trial for the Boston Massacre.
4 Tony Orlando & Dawn
Danny Thomas and Georgia Engel are the guests. Comedy segments include the invention of the doorbell by dumbbell Ludwig Who-iz-it (Tony), and Lou Effy and Moreen's experiences with shady television salesman Wild Bill (played by Ted Zeigler). Set during the Napoleonic era, the costume drama follows the plight of a young man sentenced to life imprisonment for a crime he didn't commit; his escape after 14 years from an impregnable island prison; and his emergence in aristocratic society to wreck vengeance on the men who caused his captivity. De Villefort: Louis Jourdan. Abbe Faria: Trevor Howard.

This edition must have only been sold in the immediate St. Louis area as KFVS, WSIU, KOMU, and KRCG are missing (they likely had some degree of viewership to within 50 miles of St. Louis)

Wow, hard choices to be made in this night before VCRs were really a thing. I probably would've went with Cannon and Starsky, but would've wondered what had happened on Barretta and Blue Knight. Tony Orlando would've been my choice now, but I'm sure I watched Little House on this actual night.

Well, my great-grandmother, who lived in Yakima, was one of Little House's biggest fans IMO. I'm sure if she could afford a $1000 Beta and the tapes, she would record every episode ;-) She would sit in her rocking chair and didn't move a muscle until the credits rolled.
