Report: Jerry McKenna to Become WSTR (Star 94)/Atlanta PD

Star could take more the KALC "Alice" in Denver approach. It's more of a Modern AC approach and they have good sounding dj's but the Denver and Atlanta market might be vastly different.

The selection of McKenna and rumored turn-down of the job by former Q100 PD Rob Roberts tell us that Entercom feels some serious reshaping needs to be done at Star. They apparently were looking for and found someone with many years of relevant experience.

An obvious area that needs attention is mornings. Jenn Hobby is very talented, but she's not the right lead for a morning show. Whether the station finds someone to share the spotlight with her or brings in a morning show with proven chemistry from another market remains to be seen.

I hope someone told Jerry Mckenna not to buy a house. Get an apartment with a lease you can break, the average lifespan of a Star PD the last few years is 1 or 2 years. YIKES!
