This is the first time since Radio Maria first hit the Ohio airwaves in 2006 that they are asking urgently for financial help to stay on the air. I'm sure there are some professional radio people in Ohio who are Catholic who may be interested in knowing this and wanting to help by donating $21 a month or more to do so.
WHJM 88.7 FM (licensed to Anna) transmits from Botkins which reaches the lower portion of the Limaland area and the Upper Miami Valley while WULM 1600 AM (aquired in the spring of this year) reaches Springfield,Dayton and the lower portion of the Miami Valley .
Herb Wilker who does Hospice work for St Rita's Hospital in Lima does a local program at the Minster studio. Father Rick from St. Augustine Church in Minster also presents a local lectionary program from here. Radio Maria's mission is to air more local live programs dealing with human development issues as loved ones facing death,addictions,financial struggles,learning disablilties,marital problems and the like.
October 14th,15th and 16th are the dates for the Mariathon which will eminate live from its KJMJ base in Alexandria,LA whose phone number is 1-888-308-0201.
