One of the kings of smooth jazz has gone home.

Luther Vandross is dead at age 54.

My favorite Luther song is still his cover of Major Harris' "Love Won't Let Me Wait." Yours?

My favorite was Give Me The Reason and Stop To Love. He was a great singer with huge talent. R.I.P. Luther.

I think the biggest complement you can give to Luther or any singer for that matter is that his re-makes of songs were BETTER than the originals. "Love Won't Let Me Wait" is a great example. To me his version of "Always & Forever" is better than the Heatwave version. The same goes for "Hello" and "Going In Circles", among many other covers. He will be sorely missed and never replaced. <P ID="signature">______________

We saw him years ago with Anita Baker, he was outstanding in concert.
Trying to come up with a favorite is so hard, we're lucky he left us with so many.
Thank you Luther for so much great music, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

I saw that same tour and he was incredible. His "Songs" cd has remained a staple in my player since it's release. Please get "The Best Of Love" if you don't already have it. A true great that we were lucky to see and hear.
