Thought some people in here (those who have fond memories of wsu, etc) would like to know what's been happening in this here Moscow-Pullman market of late. Big changes over the last year KHTR gave up the ghost and went satellite automated alternative (and now sucks), KZFN keeps on keeping on and is now owned by Ida Vend Broadcasting. In fact Ida Vend (aka Inland Northwest) now owns all but three signals in the martket (as of monday). They hold KZZL, KCLK, KRAO, KMAX, KZFN, KRPL...lots of voicetracking, multi station promotions, and other fallings of consolidation in that cluster.
A couple of new signals in the past year worth mentioning. KFFR (97.7 The Fire) is a class A station doing a "Christian CHR/Positive Hits" format...commercially. Its actually a pretty interesting, very upbeat and fun listen, professional jocks, good production, and probably some of the best small market imaging I've ever heard. You should check it out streaming online...I THINK the link is

Pacific Empire is also bringing a new signal to the market. Their CP for a C2 station on 100.5 (Troy, ID) was just approved and we should hear from them by the end of summer.
