"My Humps", remix or otherwise, is horrible. Not only is it materialistic, humorless and shallow, but it's incredibly repetitive and annoying as well. Not to mention that it uses the phrase "lovely lady lumps". That's just plain moronic.</P>

I would play what the people want over what I want, just not the same songs every an hour or every two hours.

I know plenty of ppl who turn off the radio after 1 hr/ 1 hr and half because they heard the same song. I am not saying I will play what I want, just not every 2 hours the same playlist. YOu can find enough music to play every 3 hours w/o repeating.

Weezer is a huge CHR hit, and if I do not recall so was that Simple Plan song, maybe not the Seether but it will keep the new generation of ppl who listen to all music, like MTV audience. We need a jack/bob format in CHR/pop where we play All OF Today's Hits, but not drop them after a year (yes play them less, but not forget about them)

- Look at Zone in Norfolk, they play alot of music most CHR's would not touch, and they are a hit on the street with young, the MTV audience.

Yeah could have moved one of the stiffs up and put it between two new ones, but Clarkson is huge, and after Since U Been Gone, and Behind Hazel Eyes her older stuff my play better now. You ever been to her show and see how fans go nuts over her older stuff? ANd if you are CHR you LOVE CLARKSON, and listeners ccare less if it was a stiff. Plus we have overplayed her songs off this CD, so we mix in older stuff too. I am not gonna play Low every single day, but throw it in from time to time

LP may not have tested well with this song, so we should bore our audience with Numb, and In the ENd all the time, so when our listeners go to the concert all they know is Numb and In the End ?

STOY is a song that CHR should have played and just missed. What is the major diffence between this song and Scars by Papa Roach. Sidewalks did do well on Zone. They are so Under-rated.

Not to start a back-and-forth debate....but...

But if you do research, your P1's will tell you exactly when they want to hear their favorite songs: now! That's why you'll have some CHR's turnover their powers every 70-ish minutes (for example).

You're forgetting what a CHR is all about: playing the hits and often! The "HR" stands for "hit radio." Even Hot AC's don't wait that long to turn over their powers.

That's fine, but as a CHR, your station's sound should be reflected during a 4-song sweep. If they hear too much alternative or rap product, anyone tuning in might think that. If you want a "Jack/Bob"-like CHR, then do Adult CHR. But if you're CHR, you're core is 12-24.

I am not familiar with the market, but every market is different and is researched and programmed accordingly. Just because Norfolk does it and it works, doesn't mean that is the case everywhere else.

Hey, I thought "Low" was a great song. You could always test it and see how it does. There are songs I hear on some CHR's that were stiffs first-time around, but testing proves otherwise.

Testing it is fine (at appropriate places/times), but two new alternative songs back-to-back on a CHR is a no-no. Your cume would plummet and your P1's would jet.

But if you test Numb and In the End and they test well with your core, they are not bored with those songs. The die-hard Linkin Park fans are familiar with all of their tunes.
