The fact that Q102 has fallen behind even WPHT tells you everything you need to know about the state of CHR in Philly
It really doesn't. The format in general is in a cyclical funk. TDY got in there and somewhat blocked the realistic path that some others have taken in terms of more pronounced throwbacks. Yeah yeah, hot AC vs CHR, but Q is in a bit of a bind for the moment, and as the format as a whole rebounds, then let's see where it goes.

If I was a CHR with these numbers, I'd at least be a LITTLE worried. Yes, the format is in a funk musically and yes, historically there have been cycles where the ratings come roaring back. But more and more, with the younger generations tuning into radio less and less when they can get the music they want to hear on demand anywhere else, it'll be interesting to see if formats like CHR that target the younger demographics will be able to get their ears tuned back in. I'd be at least a little worried if I was Q

Rock rules and Rumba drools, why is this continuing when Rumba 104.5 sank they were gone quick.
Rumba exists to capitalize on Hispanic buys, in that category they are #1 and get on all the Spanish language buys. In fact, that is one sector that has some growth potential.

I find the fact Q102 only having a half share lead over WPST more interesting. Granted, things might look quite different once demo breakouts are examined. Pretty pitiful that they hold only a minor lead over a Trenton station in the Philly book.

In terms of beauty pageant share in PPM markets, Q102 might be iHM's weakest performing CHR brand in the company.

RFF is dying Kaplan is bad news and not a nice person to boot..Hubbard should take them over in Saint Louie the Point ranks over a 7.0 constantly, great shows 6::00 way back, 90s weekends, great variety, the way Alt should be done....
So how many times are you going to post this same dog whistling crap when you’ve clearly been called out on it?
