Part 15 Radio Loses One Of Their Own

While reviewing some of my subscribed email support lists I just received some rather sad news.

Semi-retired broadcast engineer Tom Spencer, operator of Part 15 station Radio XTZ (profiled on the main HobbyBroadcaster.net) was killed when the school bus he was driving crashed into a bridge. A child also passed away as a result of the accident.

I had the opportunity to chat with Tom and he was truly one who not only knew broadcast engineering but also had a love of both radio and low power radio hobby broadcasting.

The story was published on the IndyChannel.com web site: Girl, Driver Killed In School Bus Crash Identified

Sorry to hear of this. I saw the story but didn't make the connection to Tom Spencer, the Part 15 gentleman.

Condolences to all the families involved.
