KYSR and KCRW are not located on Mt Lee. They are co- located on a peak at the end of Briarcrest Rd overlooking Coldwater Cnyn adjacent to the general Beverly Hills area several miles west of Mt Lee. The two stations directly overlook the Valley and the Westside, whereas Mt Lee being East and North of the 101 Freeway overlooks Burbank, Glendale, Hollywood, and Downtown.

I believe the first and possibly last broadcast station on Mt Lee was Don Lee's experimental TV station W6XAO, which would later become KTSL, KNXT and then, of course KCBS TV. The station moved from Mt Lee to Mt Wilson around the time KTSL (for Thomas Lee) would become KNXT after the sale to CBS around 1951.

Correct!

Mount Lee ended up in LA government hands - all the emergency radio stuff is up there now, and no broadcast.

Absolutely correct ! Several years ago the original tower was torn down and replaced by a new one right next to where the old one was, and sadly, Don Lee's TV studio bldg up there was also torn down. Too bad that it couldn't have been turned into a museum of early LA TV.
