Other songs

Any opinions on these:

(Mine will be next to it)

D4L - Laffy Taffy (NAY. This has to be one of the most the most awful pieces of crap released all year. Even my HUGE hip hop/rap/rhythmic loving friend agrees.)
Saving Jane - Girl Next Door (NAY)
Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance (YAY)
Backstreet Boys - Crawling Back To You (soso. sounds like Incomplete Part 2)
Click Five - Catch Your Wave (soso)
Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten (NAY)
Kanye West/Adam Levine - Heard Them Say (NAY. Sorry, its just not that good. Gold Digger was 1000000000 times better. Through The Wire, Jesus Walks, Gold Digger are the only good Kanye songs that have been played on CHR. Add Twista - Slow Jamz to that list)
Simple Plan - Crazy (NAY. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHATS WRONG WITH THE WORLD WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.)
50 Cent - Window Shopper (Interestingly enough YAY. Whiny but has a good chorus)
Audioslave - Doesn't Remind Me (Someone needs to play this. Its a pretty good track.)
James Blunt - You're Beautiful (soso. Kinda AAAish but it did well in the UK)
Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body (Not the best DCFC but its ok. soso)

Too much crap being released to CHR these days. Flips radio back to the alternative station.
______________

It's crap but catchy as hell. Already a huge Sales hit on the Pop charts, already huge on Rhythmic CHR, very big on Chicago's CHR/Pop station 103.5 Kiss FM, and now stations like Z-100 NYC are playing it too.
It follows the same type of Rhythmic flow as Nelly's "Country Grammar", though lyrically isn't as clever.

> Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance (YAY)
Yay it is.

> Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten (NAY)
Don't write it out just yet.

> Kanye West/Adam Levine - Heard Them Say (NAY. Sorry, its

It's got HUGE Adult appeal. Will test well on CHR/Pop for quite a while

> Simple Plan - Crazy (NAY. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHATS WRONG WITH
> THE WORLD WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.)
It's not bad, awfully catchy, and very teen friendly.

D4L - Laffy Taffy
- the longer they wait, the less chance it has. Kids will be sick of it by the time pop plays it. Not much adult appeal

Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance
- you mean "Are you gonna be my girl?" Listen to the beginning again. I think it's got potential the more I hear it. I like it a lot (personally)... just wonder about the adult females.

Backstreet Boys - Crawling Back To You
- It's alright. Background music though. There'll be no passion here.

Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
- Am I the only one who thinks this will/should be a top 10 hit. Love it.

Kanye West/Adam Levine - Heard Them Say
- Still wondering. It seems like a good start to a song, but leaves me going... is that all? Maybe it's the 1:00 instrumental at the end.

Simple Plan - Crazy
- so so

50 Cent - Window Shopper
- worst 50 cent song yet.

James Blunt - You're Beautiful
- People who play it will power it. Many stations might not touch it. Chicks dig it.

Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body
- I've heard it a few times. Like it personally. I don't think it has a great shot at making it about 30 on the chart though.
______________

That piece of rubbish was a song???

> Saving Jane - Girl Next Door (NAY)

I love it but not Pop.

> Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance (YAY)

Yep, this will be a top 10 for sure.

same opinion

> Click Five - Catch Your Wave (soso)

No, this is so poppy that it's gagging.

What? Definite yay on this jam.

It's okay. Add All Falls Down to that list.

That was a song?

It's okay.

Agreed, but probably won't happen.

No.

No.

Laffy Taffy Looks Set To Be a Big YAY...

Your huge Hip Hop buddies obviously don't represent all fans of Pop or Hip Hop. The song now zooms into the Top 10 on the Hot 100, and as I already mentioned yesterday this is do to exploding sales:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?g=Singles&f=The+Billboard+Hot+100

It surges up big time on the Pop 100, from 29 up to 12:

Yes, it is a silly Pop song, but so is "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas. It's a simple Pop record about female candy (laffy taffy).

Is it one of my personal favorites? No. Is there growing demand for it? YES. Does it fit CHR radio right now? DEFINITELY.

I'll take this song anyday over super-wimpy Disney/Rock records like "Dirty Little Secret" by American Rejects, or worse yet...Click Five's awful "Just The Girl".

Not much adult appeal? That's what they said about "My Humps", and about Kanye West...

Several songs of his deserve to be in this coveted category ;)

I'm a straight male, and I've been digging it for months.

Or even worse, Catch Your Wave.

This is finally crossing over to CHR? It's been on AC and Hot AC for months now. I remember when almost all new songs would start on CHR and then cross over to AC... I guess nowadays, if a song isn't rhythmic or rock-ish enough, then it does the opposite.

Anyway, I'd earmark "High" as James' next U.S. radio hit. It's still mellow enough for AC, but has more of a rock "edge" to it.
