The Beeb's still on shortwave? I thought they killed all that off several years ago in favour of satellite audio...........

I'll bet they probably still have it going for the benefit of third-world nations, like, a "limited" SW service like the VOA seems to be doing these days, or something.

Query: how old is your SW log?

Parts of it are as old as 2005 maybe Some are as new as a week ago. so 4 years old or so.

8420 Music What kind of music, what time of day - are u sure this isn't an image? There is a Relig. Bcaster on 9330. So 9330 - 455 * 2 = 8420.
10943 BBC This is a very odd freq. for the beeb...

5020 SIBS Was Havana off the when u got this? Otherwise, this would be next to impossible 5 kHz away from Radio Rebelde unless ur in their skip zone...
If ur saying that this was Solomon Islands Broadcasting Service, how long ago was this heard? This had to be before the sunspot count went down and before Havana went on 5025.

Hey Stormy Thanks for your questions,
This is a fairly Old Log so i cant really remember what time these were done. im sure that 8420 was at night. It wasnt an image. i dont recall getting a 9330 that night.
10943 was probably 10945 my radio sometimes doesnt tune correctly
7415 yea i meant WBCQ
5020 It was hard to hear under Cuba. But it was there. had to have been 2005
5950 GBS. I Forgot what GBS was. Greenland Broadcasting Service Maybe?
9090 was indeed an image im sure.
14535 was much weaker then 15445. 15445 was booming. and 14535 had a slight Delay. and was weaker and faded often.
9975 Radio Round Rock, TX. Im Not sure if that was a pirate or not. I'll Check Tonight To See If They are on.
18932 My radio Occasionally doesnt tune perfectly. so it was probably 18930.
4160 might have been an image. although my radio doesnt do that, often.
4980. I Dont recall picking up a 5890.
6425. It might have been a pirate.

Aunty Beeb still broadcasts on SW, but it's getting to the point where one is surprised to catch them. :(

I caught them a couple of weeks ago in Ottawa (Ontario), with my cheap little Grundig G1000A, at about 3pm EST (1800UTC), on 11860kHz. I believe the signal was being beamed to Africa.
