The Lutheran Hour celebrates its 79th year on the air, making it the longest running Christian radio program. The first broadcast aired October 2, 1930 as part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod's outreach to the world. Today, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod's "Lutheran Hour" is heard on more than 900 radio stations across the US and Canada (with a weekly audience in the US and Canada of over 700,000 listeners), plus the Armed Forces Radio Network, XM, and online at www.lhm.org or Google: lutheran hour. There is also a Spanish version. Pastor Ken Klaus has been the radio voice for the Lutheran Hour since 2002 and is a preacher who has a unique way of telling the story of Jesus, each week, that is compelling. The music generally is hymn based, quite often using music perforemed by the men's choir from Concordia Seminary. There is a question and answer segment where listeners write in with some very interesting questions that Pastor Klaus answers. It's a well produced 30 minute broadcast. Their web site even has podcasts of the Lutheran Hour going back to 1937. A faithful effort by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod that weekly proclaims the grace and love our Our Lord Jesus Christ. Well worth the listen.
