This morning KSBJ announced the final phase of their "Powerful Change" they've been talking about for a few weeks. In addition to adding Bill Meier, recently from Focus on the Family, to the AM Show (with PD Susan O'Donnell back on the air), moving the existing morning show (Joey and Copellia) to Afternoon Drive, and evening announcer Jen Driskill to middays, they made a HUGE announcement this morning.
They just bought 96.9 El Campo, which greatly expands their ministry and helps the station reach one of the biggest population areas of the Houston Metro (2-3 million more potential cume than what they're currently hitting.) This is great news for KSBJ listeners in that area.
In addition to KSBJ now being on both 89.3 and 96.9 (doing a much better job of covering Houston,) 99.5 in Sugar Land, 91.1 in Lake Jackson, and 89.5 in Bay City will become NGEN in July. NGEN is KSBJ's new format targeted primarily to the 12-24 audience. According to what was said on the air, it is the first step toward bringing NGEN to all of Houston.
AND, it sounds like they just rolled out a new jingle package as part of the change.
Way to go KSBJ and NGEN!
