KDZA 107.9 A to Z Countdown

Don62 Who are you to say what's a good song? David, you've demonstrated your utter lack of musical knowledge or taste here on these boards. The late Gene Pitney, who you attacked as being "mediocre" had more talent in one tooth than you, pal.

I guess the masses who bought millions of copies of Honey, Barry Manilow songs, and the many records put out by Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Paul Anka, Three Dog Night, Journey, Kansas, Styx, etc., they're all nobodies and don't mean a thing in some so-called consultant's limited world.

Agreed Don62...To him..it's just 300 songs repeated daily, nothing new, no specialties, nothing extravagant...only monotony.

Gene Pitney is one of the best Don62. "Only Love Can Break A Heart" from 1962 is a classic and should be aired.
And yes "Honey" was #1 for several weeks in '68.

In the Letter T's as of 6/19...countdown began 5/27

Just an update for those interested. A to Z ended today, with the last song being "Zorba the Greek" by Herb Alpert....Total air days: 23 (remember this was only aired M-F 9am to 6pm & began way back on 5/27) & nearly 2800 songs later! Very interesting and thorough countdown to say the least!

Yup. Radio stations shouldn't do anything like this, stick with the same songs, never adding any great ones in occaisionally, offer nothing special, nothing risky. Just go with the flow, put the station on "autopilot" and heed advice only of consultants who drag radio down to its bare minimum.

Then you wonder why radio sucks these days and sounds so bland.
