Is DelGiorno a Christian?

There are a lot of questions about Michael DelGiorno.
How could a man that talks about Christ on the air get kicked out of a casino?

As much as I would like to cut and paste, I would rather just give you the link to read for yourself.

WOW!

Thanks for sharing the link. I would like to see Tulsa Today do a profile on KRMG's new morning man.

WOW! Isn't Tulsa Today the local version of the National Enquirer? I'm not sure it is so much "journalism" or someone's rant about local people and news.

The point is not that Tulsa Today is credible/or not. The fact is that more people are waking up to the "true" Michael. He does not live a Christian life. He talks a good game for the most part but he doesn't deliver on the promise.

He has put himself in a position where people are watching his every move.

I know a few people over at Journal and they all avoid Michael.

His numbers are slipping. I think the act may be coming to a close.

Maybe they can replace the crap on from noon-12 and 10-midnight while they're at it. How do these worn out shows get numbers?

Getting back to the question posed - quite frankly, its not for any of us to judge whether DelGiorno "acts" like a Christian. God will deal with all of us soon enough.

Absolutely!

Even more importantly, the questions wasn't posed as whether he "acts" like a Christian, it's whether he "is" a Christian. KXOJDJ, isn't that judging him? How "Christ-like" is that? I'm pretty sure Christ said we should NOT judge others. Where do you get off posting something like that?

And why is it so many "Christians" find it so important to challenge and attack the "Christianity" of others. I've read the Bible pretty extensively, and the behavior, especially the judgmentalism I see from so many "Christians" has nothing to do with what I've seen in that book. For every place in the Bible you could show me where Jesus had anything negative to say about anyone (throwing the moneychangers out of the temple, for example), I could show you a dozen where he said we should not judge others, that we should love our neighbors; even love sinners.

I'm no fan of Michael's; I think he's a blowhard and a hypocrite. But what right do you, KXOJDJ, or anyone else have to question someone's faith? So, he went to a casino: first, do we really know that's true? The only reference I've seen to it was in the Tulsa Times "article" written by a man who clearly considers himself an enemy of DelGiorno's. And calling that piece an "article" is a generous interpretation, indeed. The strong opinions expressed by the writer clearly move that from the realm of fact-based reporting to the op-ed page.

And finally, suppose he did go to the casino. Before you attack sameone for their lapses, suppose you take a long look in the mirror. How many deep, dark secrets do YOU have? What have YOU done when you thought no one was looking, and should we revoke your Christian-membership card for doing so?

I have one qustion: is there a place in today's "talk radio" for someone who DOESN'T pander to hard-right Bible-thumpers? I'm beginning to have my doubts...

Has anyone heard the clip of Sean Hannity and Rosie O'Donnell on the View?
Erling played it on KRMG before he retired. It was just disgusting. They were screaming at each other, talking over each other and GOING NOWHERE! This finished me off on talk radio. This "ream the other guy out" approach dates back to the days of Joe Pyne and Morton Downey. It's horrible talk and even worse broadcasting. I remember when you could listen to talk radio and actually LEARN something. If you have XM, give Air America a listen. It will just about make you pass out. It's not the politics, its the horrible broadcasting standards. As far as DelGiorno's Christianity, you really have to find your own "place" in your faith. For some people, like DelGiorno, it's the "in your face" faith. I never believed or followed that. When I was 15, a preacher from a church in my hometown cornered me in the production room of the little radio station where I worked and badgered me about "where I was going to go when I died". I mean, come on, I was 15. All I wanted to do was get his Sunday morning show recorded. And that soured me on these guys for decades. Then, one day I caught Joel Osteen on TV. Changed my life. But yes, there is a place in talk for someone who isn't far right or left. Being that we live in an age where people a drawn to hysterics (Sean/Rosie), I don't how the ratings would be on a station such as this. I have also tried to find an mp3 of the Sean Rosie episode, but never could. Anyone's thoughts?

Been there too. Told the preacher I was going to Purgatory. Boy, did I get an earful.

Pat Robertson and Such.

I've gotta agree with you about Joel Osteen. Good preacher. Preaches the love and Grace of God. Don't get me wrong. It's not just a "feel good" doctrine. He spells it out truthfully. But he's balanced.

Do ANY preachers really think that folks are going to get converted to God by hearing that if we vote wrong, he'll smite us?

After all, doesn't scripture say that it's the "GOODNESS" of God that draws men to repentance?

I never knew anyone who entered into an authentic relationship with Christ based solely on fear of judgement and someone SCREAMING IN THEIR FACE. What brought me to Christ was his unconditional love and acceptance of me AS I AM.

Off my soap box.

Pass the offering plate, crackers and juice.

And the jello.

Good talk works. Bad talk doesn't. It's as simple as that. There are plenty of successful left wing talk programs. They're just not on Air America. Behind Rush Limbaugh, the two most popular talk radio programs are Morning Edition and All Things Considered, both of which definitely cater to the left without being hosted by political hacks.

Since your screen name is kxojdj, I assume you work at KXOJ. You should be ashamed of yourself for judging Michael in this way and embarrassing your radio station. "Judge not" his Christianity. There is a higher power who has taken on that role of judgement. An employee of KXOJ should know that, I would think. You owe Michael an apology for voicing such an inappropriate question on a site like this.

If you are a Christian and you are concerned about Michael's spiritual future, call him...invite him to lunch...help him back into the light (if, in fact he has gone astray) That is what a Christian would do.
