How did "Jingle Ball" end up on 94.1

I may be wrong about this, but didn't Tracy Johnson say that they were still going to do Jingle Ball well he signed on Jack FM? Or did he say that this was as big as Jingle Ball?

Eitherway, how is it that they were able to put "Jingle Ball" on 94.1 without at least one exec calling an attorney?

Am I the only one wondering about this?

Clear Channel uses Jingle Ball as a name for an event all around the country.
Tracy may not have the right to stop this even if he wanted to..

Not to get testy, but is that the actual answer, or just a guess?
I'd like to hear from someone who honestly knows.

I think you would need to consult a lawyer if you really want to know what Tracy Johnson's actual rights are. I do know that Clear Channel uses the name Jingle Ball in many markets around the country including NY and LA and Philadelphia to at least name a few.

Does anybody KNOW how "Jingle Ball" ended up (legally) on 94.1

Ok...

Are there any of you who are lawyers that know EXACTLY how 94.1 was able to use Jingle Ball?

Re: Does anybody KNOW how "Jingle Ball" ended up (legally) on 94.1

You don't need a lawyer to use the US Trademark Office's search tool. If you search Jingle Ball, you'll find the live Trademark (or in this case word mark) registered to AMFM... a company acquired by CC.

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment, namely live music concerts; and radio programming. FIRST USE: 19941200. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19941200

The short answer is this... Star (and the rest of Clear Channel) get to use the name because they own it.
