HD Delay

With the automatic 8 second delay experience with H.D. what does this do for A staions (like the one i work at) who rely on marti-rpu broadcasts for most of our local high school games? We listen to our "Over-the-Air" signal to monitor our broadcasts? does this mean marti-RPU units will really be obsolete?

Thanx,

No, You will have to find a way to get your pre delay feed fed to you. I would suggest a cellphone dialed into your studio and placed on hold. this would be the easiest. You could also get an autocouple phone hybrid to connect to and have that tied into your studio feed

In our cluster we are using a couple of things...one is the cell phone calling a pre-delay audio source (listen line). The other method we have employed is using a marti freq in drive times...to re-transmit pre delay audio from the center of town and the traffic reporters in the air use a bearcat scanner to pick up the audio. Can't use cell phones in the air.

Or you can fire up a SCA and run pre delay audio to SCA receviers. We also have a few VHF frequencies that we can feed audio to a hand held.

I used to get my kicks by listening to undelayed or predelayed talk shows sent out over SCA's.<P ID="signature">______________
