Fun Oldies Debuts In Central Maine At 1280 AM WJYE

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/179278/fun-oldies-debuts-in-central-maine/

WJYE also holds a CP Translator for 106.3 FM to increase coverage

But wait 1960's and 1970's hits to serve Advertisers and listeners in Central Maine? I would like to know the median demos on this one given that the audience has to be above 55 though on average. Also Oldies is going to have to be redefined within the next decade to have 2000's songs at some point to lower the median demos.

MaineInvests LLC. has announces it has closed on its acquisition of 1280 WJYE Gardiner, Maine from Blue Jey Broadcasting Company.

Concurrent with the ownership change, the station announces it has debuted a new locally oriented Oldies format as FUN OLDIES 1280. Fun Oldies features all of the biggest hits of the 1960s and 70s with its 5,000 watt signal blanketing Central Maine.

Given that the principal owners also are behind Hot 104.7 in southern Maine, I'm betting this is a placeholder until the FM comes on. When that does, I expect a flip to the same format as the southern Maine station.

WJYE 1280 has applied for a different translator.100.3 instead of 106.3.

not a different translator.. applied to move 106.3 to 100.3 big difference in new translator vs new frequency
