Former WPRI Staff - Where Are They Now?

I'm going to throw out some memorable names. Does anyone know where these former Channel 12 people are?

Janice Glynn - Anchor with Walter Cryan mid 80's.

Tom Lewis - Meterologist and station comedian early 1990's.

Barry Diamond - Sportscaster charged with Rape 1990

Glen Laxton: Reporter 1980's

Barbra Hamilton: Anchor 1980's

Hank Bouchard: Meterologist 70's and 80's.

Tony Potts - Anchor early 1990's. Ok I know this one. Everyone else should too.

I know of 2. Glenn Laxton is still there part time. Hank Bouchard left us a few years back.

And have there been any sightings of George Allen?

I worked with him at WLKW back when JC was on strike for the carpenters
Bethlehem local. He started out at WPEP (Taunton), passed thru WLKW,
on to WTEV (6), to WPRI (12) doing "Dialing for Dollars" and, when last
I sighted him, he was doing remotes for WSAR. Rumored to have been
weekending at WPRO.

George is a tad younger than me, so he may still be active somewhere
around Providence....

Glenn Laxton is the Community Affairs/PR contact for WPRI.

Tony Potts is an "anchor" on one of those national entertainment gossip/news programs, but I can't think of which one.

I think Tom Lewis is at a Television station in Connecticut.

Barbara Hamilton last I heard was employed with New England Gas Company.

Makes me wish WLNE still had Dialing for Dollars. That was the one thing that kept that station popular. Now they've got Nothing.

He's at WTNH in New Haven.

According to their website Tom left WTNH in October 2002. As a neat bonus on their page, you can see the other side of Chopper 12.

I remember Barbara Hamilton. She was the noon/weekend anchor for a while in the early 80's. One weekend night at 6pm, one of the commuter airlines (Pilgrim??) had a plane crash somewhere in Eastern Connecticut. She hadn't seen the pictures before the newscast and almost started crying as the pictures were horrible and gruesome. It was a sad story, but at least she was human and responded like any viewer would have.

Here are a few more:

How about Deborah Horne -- Reporter/Anchor 80's?
Where is Kathryn Grey -- Reporter (previously weekend anchor at WLNE)?
Edited by formeraa on 07/09/05 05:07 AM.

Barbara Hamilton: works in the press office of RI Governor Don Carcieri.

Glen Laxton: is still at Ch. 12 in an off air position, community relations I think.

Tony Potts: was co-anchor of one the tabloid shows.

Tom Lewis: was at a station in Ct.

AHA! Very very cool! Nice to see people from the past still exist. I thought she was one of the ones who probably just got out of the business and ended up working for the Gas company! lol. I am very Happy to see that she's still on the air. Good for her. The 2005 Deborah Horne is looking Good!

Tom Lewis, I know he was filling in like once in blue moon a few years ago on Ch 12.
I remember one day it was like 98 degrees, Humid and he's in the weather yard in a heavy ski jacket, mittens, scarf and ski mask doing the weather telling us the heatwave was continueing for another 3 or 4 days.
I think he could have done a tv sitcom and be a Jerry Sienfield.

I know of people who did nt normally watch the news tune in just to get a laugh from TL.
