Jack, coming to either 101.5 or 97.1 (if Cox decides to move 97X to 101.5), as a clone of sister 98-9 WMMO in Orlando. Maybe 106.3 might be sold to some Spanish company for Tampa to get a Hurban.
Edited by PassDutch on 08/07/05 11:39 PM.

106.3's transmission covers a very old market.

No Jack in Tampa

Tampa is a market that, due to the formats currently on-air here, is very much ill-suited for a Variety Hits station right now. Much like is the case with Houston, having an 80s station here is a major blocker. Not to mention a Classic Hits station (The Eagle), an "Oldies" station playing 70s and some 80s (WRBQ), and a Hot AC (Mix).

Cox has not put JACK-FM on anywhere (and don't confuse that brand name with the Variety Hits format as a whole), and besides the unique WMMO, it doesn't have any flirtations with the Variety Hits format. And I don't forsee that changing in the near future, certainly not in this market.
______________

And remember as well that MMO has been on the air in essentially this format since 1992, so it's not like Cox came up with the idea.
______________
