Emmis looking at acquiring a dance network?

Forget about the ABC Radio talk, this one is especially interesting. Buzz is going around Emmis is seriously looking at acquiring Chrysalis, which owns Galaxy FM, which is a dance music radio network that airs in Britian. If they get it, will they keep it dance or drop it like a hot potato in favor of Hip Hop?

And if they did keep it dance, wonder if that says if Emmis might look at the possibility of dance stations in America again.

Who knows, i just thought this was interesting enough to post.<P ID="signature">______________

Unfortunately, The U.K. and The U.S. are different as night and day when it comes to radio stations, especially in the format department. Chances are that if Emmis does acquire Chrysalis' radio stations, they'll leave the formats intact since Dance is a more established format in The U.K. and does well ratings wise.

As for whether Emmis will bring Dance back to its stations, they might leave that door open, but for they'll stick to their game plan stateside.

It's also worth pointing out that UK radio formats are regulated so Emmis can't mess with the stations as they please.
