You know what's truly ironic about this whole thing? And I mean....."TRULY IRONIC"!!!.......This conviction obviously helps the State of Mississippi overcome its racist/Jim Crow past. So good for everyone living in Mississippi!!
This conviction is truly something for every citizen of that state to feel good about! Justice was served! However, the last time I checked (about 5 minutes ago, on the Internet), Mississippi still has the Confederate "Stars and Bars" on the upper-lefthand corner of its state flag! Look it up and see for yourselves, y'all!! I think that's ironic---big time!
Now I ask all of you here on this board right now, what in the name of Sam Hill is that all about??? In my opinion, them Confederate Stars and Bars represents the South's racist/segregationist/slavery past! Heck, I'm not even an African American who is a descendent of slaves, and yet I'm still offended by that symbol!!! I think given Mississippi's current state flag, it would seem to me that the State of Mississippi still has a ways to go to erase its ugly past, vis a vis its treatment of African Americans!
