DRM (+) DAB (+) FMeXtra, AND IBOC. WHICH IS BEST AND WHY?

The real reason Eureka was nixed was that it would have leveled the uneven field which the big signal stations enjoy.
The group broadcasters did not want the 250 watt AM stations challenging their full class B & C FM's.

Canada has had DAB for a while but is going to go iBiquity. Nobody cares what Europe does. There are more iBiquity IBOC broadcasters than all the others combined, worldwide.

Stick with iBiquity and the good old U.S.A.!

Interesting. Canada bailed from IBOC when the Canadian Association of Broadcasters disbanded in 2010. Has something changed since then?

So you say there is NO IBOC for Canada. Eh?

Are there any stations still running in HD in Canada? (I haven't kept track.) But I've not heard/seen any push in policy circles to adopt the technology as Canada's preferred route toward a digital conversion. Nor does any blanket authorization mechanism exist to allow stations to adopt it if they chose to.
