I had no problem working overnights. Fueled by the music and actually being on the air to play it kept me pumped!!! Plus there was no one else at the station till morning, the place was all mine! The listeners paid attention without the usual distractions of the rest of the day. Then if your lucky enough to work on a 50KW AM blowtorch, it's hello world as you ride the skywave!
