Users in our Bright House forum note that Bright House Networks has decided to pull service from an entire Orlando condominium association after crime in the area simply became too severe. A Bright House technician was robbed at gunpoint back in July. The company subsequently sent a letter to all local residents saying Bright House would be disconnecting TV, phone and broadband service to the entire area starting this week.
It's an interesting scenario we surprisingly haven't seen come up that often. On one hand, you can understand a cable operator not wanting to put its employees at risk. On the other hand, there's countless crime-riddled neighborhoods that still get cable, and it's not fair to punish all residents due to the behaviors of a few.
