WHP has announced Big Bad Bob's retirement.

I know, another right wing voice, however, Bob's perspective and acerbic style will be missed!!!

I have the feeling that the dumbass suits in Clear Channel Corporate will replace the only locally based PM Drive talk program with a syndicated "Bash The Democrats" format.......boring...same old, same old as the demos continue to march on to Medicare and Social Security.........62+++.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, et al all day long............the same point of view over and over and over and over and over and.....SOMEBODY HAS TO FIX THE BROKEN RECORD>>>THE GROOVES NEED TO BE CLEANED!!!

I would love to hear a locally produced show with a liberal and a conservative as co-hosts creating some energy and opening up a "clear channel" to different points of few.

It ain't gonna happen!!!!
 
Sad to see Bob go. He and my good friend R. J. Harris in the morning are two excellent local hosts. Agree with their politics or not, they talk about local topics and create a dialog on issues of importance to the local audience. My guess is the the CC suits will simply move Hannity up to 3 to 6, when he is actually on live, and put another canned right-wing ranting program on at night. I really hope I am wrong, and they surprise me and hire another good local person!
 
That's probably what will happen...unless they expand Bobby Gunther Walsh's show from WAEB Allentown. He used to fill in for Durgan at one time. Since Gunther is doing mornings on AEB that probably won't happen....so...it's hello Hannity.
 
I know that Bob Durgin has had health issues, however, is it possible that his "retirement" is part of the Clear Channel cost cutting drive sweeping across the Country?
