After a long battle, The Great One passed away... Ironically Johnny Otis passed away earlier this week, he discovered her in San Francisco many years ago. They were both Giants in the early days of R&B/Rock N' Roll. I've seen a lot of shows , regretfully, I never saw Etta, had the chance a couple of time, just never did. Well I got her great music. She had such a huge catologue that, that just recently someone turned me on to a song, I had never heard "Sugar on The Floor", pretty cool. I've always like her version of "Prisoner Of Love".

At last, her one True Love took her home.

My fav is Pushover.

I've been reading the obits and a lot of of them zoom right over Etta's '50s years. No mention of "The Wallflower" (Dance with Me Henry) which spent several weeks at #1 on the R&B charts in 1955. I guess us old guys will have to educate those young obit writers.................

In reality they do. You would have had to struggle to hear Etta's version in the 50s.
