After a round of budget cuts, four major radio stations in the Burlington area, broadcast on five frequencies, are for sale. The stations are:

Kiss (WVTK-FM 92.1).

The Zone (WXZO-FM 96.7, WEAV-AM 960), the station broadcasts on two signals.

I thought Jeff Shapiro's final comment was interesting: "Radio in smaller markets is going to head back to the more regional mom and pop operators -- which is where its roots were before Clear Channel consolidated the industry."

I wonder if this is true or if it is just part of the changing trends in radio and radio listener habits? I have read of several mom and pop stations that do well and it would certainly be an interesting reversal from what we've been seeing in the last 10 years. If true, it would validate the point that the best radio is still local radio.
