Anyone heard the "Buzz" on this Apex 460 Mic?

This is a Chinese microphone allegedly made by a group of Chinese that trained in East Germany under the old Georg Neumann GMBH, and "learned the art" of making a tube condenser mic. This thing is catching on, and apparently our friends at Telefunken N.A. are allegedly (or at least from what this report says) not only took thier design, but are either rebuilding it or outright using the guts of this 200 dollar Chinese microphone and repainting the thing and adding the "Telefunken" badge..and charging 1600.00 for it..

It's up for discussion, but several otther pro-audio webrings are reporting that it sounds really close to vintage tube microphones..and damn near identical or BETTER than the current Telefnken M16. Just for the hell of it..I bought one for 209.00 and just got it tonight. I'll post an A/B file with my U47 and this one later in the week..I don't know if it's that good or not, but I have been told that several studios in Nashville, LA, and one in Miami have bought cases of them! In any case Telefunken is surely under the microscope for this one.

Jeff, please do post. If it's as good as the reviews I may be interested in buying one. Almost can't go wrong for the price.<P ID="signature">______________
