Another Rimshot Inches Closer

Newspapers get radio things wrong about 75% of the time... right up there with Wikipedia, but with a longer tradition.

There is, otherwise, no logic to the purchase by the César Chávez organization. They are among the more militant labor organizations, and certainly have about 0% in common with Percy Faith.

Yes, and we all know what it means when someone buys a radio station and promises absolutely no changes.

The closest thing to logic in buying it just to lease it out to locals is you have control over the first adjacent, so you can keep someone from stepping on your translator.

Where this falls apart is the sequence of events: close on the station, sign a LMA, then Kemp serendipitously decides to turn in the license on the signal holding up the upgrade. (sarcasm mode on)

KIKO-FM is now coming in clear in the East Valley in stereo and synced HD. Before, they were in mono and the HD was spotty and not synced with the analog. So, I’m guessing they’ve completed the upgrade?

Who wants to bet they move the classic country format from 1340 to this beefed up FM signal? It’s pretty much a waste to run satellite-fed oldies if they want to target Phoenix.
