Adult Hits On 101.5?

I'd say I'd put a Jack-type adult hits station on 101.5. Don't even put Spanish on 101.5. Could "Max," "Steve" or "Louie" end up on 101.5? CC owns name-branded adult hits stations such as Chattonooga's Max FM, Louisville's Louie FM & Columbia's Steve FM.

No será Gato. Tulsa tiene población hispánica del 8%. ¿Qué usted haría con una señal que cubre el lado del norte y del este del metro?

Clearchannel es bastante elegante no faltar esta excelente oportunidad.

JACK has seemingly peaked in Dallas.

The no-jock, wise guy, jukebox, automation approach is wearing thin according to Arbitron.

However in Dallas, anything would have been an improvement for Infinity over Wild.

I was told it will be Spanish. By a credable sorce.

No way. I'd say eclectic rock "The Brew" -- already heard in Milwaukee, Columbus & Omaha would likely appear on 101.5.
Edited by PassDutch on 09/25/05 08:04 PM.

That's also what you said on the San Francisco board (among other places), which is where I have addressed you in detail.

I'm sure after others have read that response, your credibility is going to be questionable.
______________

No spanish on 101.5

Can anyone think of one Clear Channel station that is Spanish? OKC's main spanish station is maintained by Citadel after 105.3 The Spy (Alt Rock) failed last year.

Now THAT would be dumb...

Put your winning format on a better stick and then use the old stick to cannibalize it.

I haven't seen Tulsa breakdowns since I worked there but I'd bet almost anything that a significant portion of KTBT's listenership is 2nd and 3rd generation Hispanics.

If you absolutely have to do something Spanish with it because corporate is mandating it, do a Regional Mexican format and pick up the 1st generation Hispanics.

Trust me - you can own the Hispanic teens and young adults with just the 92.1 product. It's not like you have to flank yourself - Perry's more interested in serving the black community than making money and Cox damn sure isn't going to do anything.

Clear Channel has an ideal situation with 92.1. Splitting its shares would be dumb - very dumb.

Hey Robbie!

I couldn't agree more with you about the Spanish format. I have a great idea! How about a "Jack" type of format staffed with ex-CC employees over the past few years! Just imagine:

6a - 10a:
"The Freaky Morning Cruise" hosted by Robbie Cruise and Steve "Freaky" Fisk

10a - 3p:
"Mathews in the Midday" with CC Mathews

3p - 7p:
"The Afternoon Mega Mixx" with Matt The Bratt

7p - Midnight:
"Love Life" with Dave Dallow and Kim Gower

What do ya think?!? :)

I agree with ya Robbie that 101.5 should do a Regional Mexican format especially since from what I hear that the Spanish population is growing in that market. I would also see CC go with Adult Hits, Eclectic Rock, or I would like to see them go Urban AC as V-101.5 or Magic 101.5 because KGTO-The Touch 1050 is not cutting it as far as Urban AC or put it on KAKC-1300 because that station's not doing anything with the Business Talk format, Heck! They're not even showing in the ratings the last I checked.

I went through Tulsa last month I was checking on 1050 it they seem to be all over the board, after Tom Joyner, they air the Open Mic show (which was aired on the station through a phone line) It was really tacky, then air some infomercial after that, then the Michael Baisden show, then it's music after that. Probably the only good thing on KGTO would be their Blues and Jazz show on Sunday Afternnons.

If Perry is going to air their Talk show on the Tulsa and Lawton stations at least air it through an ISDN or something, not a telephone line. KGTO and KJMM have a lot of potential do well in Tulsa but it seems like Perry doesn't want to put the effort into those stations, like you said he's more about serving the Black Community than making money. They also need to groom some of their jocks on KJMM because right now it sounds like a college station, I really couldn't listen to them a whole lot, I found myself listening to The Beat and K-HITS more than I did 105 K-Jamz.
Edited by X-Man on 09/27/05 08:28 AM.
