Actually, they are in final stages and there is no sale... yet.

From Drudge, a paragraph or two...

"Citadel (CDL:NYSE) is closing in fast on a deal to acquire Disney's (DIS:NYSE)radio properties, in a transaction that is said to value the stations at between $2.7 billion and $2.9 billion, according to sources.

"They're making progress," says one person who was closely involved in a rival bid for the properties. A deal could be announced as early as Monday, when Disney is due to report earnings, and comes on the heels of Disney's move last week to buy Pixar for $7.4 billion to bolster its movie-animation efforts."

... of course, this may be bad writing, too... as boht Eisner and Iger have said the Radio Disney and ESPN stations are not in the dea.

Hmm... Mr. Drudge must have different sources than "your's truly"...

My sources say it's a done deal, it's just not going to be announced 'til next week.<P ID="signature">______________

I'd say that is probable. Inside Radio was predicting an announcement today earlier in the week.

As I think about it, it is more than likely they are timeing it for theearnings call so as not to put a spin on stock pricing beforehand.

Ah, yes... thanks for that insight.

... maybe you do know something about radio after all...

Hehehe. Now back to guessing what Citadel will do, if anything, with the prizes.

What Citadel will do...
