Anyone have a clean, legible schematic of this beast? I have found a 2C schematic but don't know what differences there might be between the B and C variants.

Scroll down--there's your manual and other information.

Believe most significant differences between the different versions is the IPA set-up.

Original Collins 831 series used a tube-type IPA and the Collins exciter. Later they went to the 802A exciter, and a solid state 700 watt IPA.

The circuitry around the final has been little changed

I have that manual. What I need is the schematic, which isn't in their manual! Odd.

Look at page 77 of the PDF manual--has schematic of control/interlock circuits.

Not the clearest copy, but appears when the filament relay pulls in, it turns on the filament on lamp by connecting it to ground. Now it shows a light bulb connect to ground through a resistor, which shouldn't cause problems. However--a short in that circuit could short out the +28 volt supply. If you could figure out which wire that is on the filament relay (would connect the lead to ground) & disconnect it, might be a good test.

Thanks! That page is a better shot of the interlock circuitry than trying to read the big print.
