100.3 the Sound

In the 60's, FM was an insignificant factor in radio listening. So any AM that had even medicare coverage had something it could do.

Yes, most Ancient Modulation stations are Medicare eligible!

The "last resort" programming became very profitable for some, but it's not been a favorite of the high profile group owners, who don't even seem interested in mainstream CC or Gospel formats for the most part.

Very true...a missed opportunity.

Don't you just love auto-correct! ... even a mediocre implementation?

The ratings are in and KKLQ is still climbing steadily. Already surpassing commercial riddled KFSH, the 0.8 rating is a sign that the station is succeeding (which, in the whole history of EMF media, stations have never shut down completely due to ratings). I have followed EMF closely since 2004 and have never heard of them leaving a large market after arriving. New York is a good example where naysayers said the Big Apple would never support a full power Christian music station with fringe Bridge and Star (WAWZ) coverage already in the metro. They were wrong.
I have seldom heard a station tuned, balanced, and adjusted as well as KKLQ is now. The sound of the station almost sounds better than a CD or bluetooth input of the same song! The Artist Experience is only lacking station logos for HD 1 and HD 2 as titles, albums, and songs are fully labelled. This station placed itself as a huge player in the metro in a matter of months and it's running strong.

Just a clarification: KKLQ has a 0.1 rating in March in 12+. The 0.8 you mention is share, not rating.

No station in LA has a 0.8 rating. That would be double the rating of the #1 station.
